Each year a team of University of Evansville engineering students design and build a car for the international Formula competition sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers. Next year's competition will be held in May at Michigan International Speedway and will feature 130 teams from colleges and universities from around the world. For many seniors this project highlights their collegiate career by promoting complex design challenges.

These cars are small formula-style racecars, which are judged in three different categories: static inspection and engineering design, solo performance through timed road courses, and high-performance track endurance. The cars are allowed to use small high performance engines up to 610cc, which can be further, modified within the competition's guidelines.

Community support and sponsorships are essential for the success of this exciting educational and automotive opportunity.

Corporations and individuals throughout the State of Indiana and the United States have the opportunity to participate as sponsors for the 2012 University of Evansville Formula SAE Team. The University of Evansville is one of only two returning Indiana teams in this competition!  There is no minimum amount for sponsorship, and sponsorships need not be monetary. In-kind contributions, donations of supplies, tools, machine time, painting / powdercoating, and product discounts are invaluable resources!
